FOR DACHSHUNDS CLUB ……. thank you for your support!

We met Julia and her adorable dachshunds, Summer, Miss Red and Doodles at the Pacific Kennel Club dog show a few weeks ago. She loved our new crate pads and ordered a set for her dachshund club members as a fundraiser. We had the pleasure of seeing Summer and Miss Red when we delivered the crate pads, they are so darn cute!

PACIFIC KENNEL CLUB ALL BREED DOG SHOW – JULY 2015

DOG SHOWAmidst the crazy weather, it was a successful event for everyone. We were exposed to something very new to us, it was very interesting to say the least and we thank Pacific Kennel Club for welcoming us to their event. Our goal was to raise funds for the Maggie May account and gain awareness to our organization. We accomplished it plus more. We had great sales from our blankets and crate pads, with some of our blankets going all the way to Chicago! We made new friends and connections. The people were very supportive of us and appreciated what we are about, and we appreciated their questions, their great ideas and suggestions. Plus we had fun a lot of fun too and loved meeting all the awesome dogs!

UPDATE : NINJA & SQUIRT

We thought would catch up with Ninja and Squirt to see how they are doing, and we are happy to report that both are doing terrific!

Ninja’s stitches have dissolved and his staples have been removed. His fur is growing back nicely and he is now able to roam about the house during the day ….. but still no jumping, and he knows it!  His best bud Moemoe is happy to have Ninja back to play and cuddle with, and is quite ok with Ninja being without a tail.  We are so happy for Jesse and his kitties, it’s amazing Ninja survived being caught in a car engine.

Squirt’s ultra sound is clear and she is now 4 months cancer free!  Dana says she is a bit of a “chunky monkey” now, with a slight limp, so losing a few pounds is on the agenda. Otherwise she is doing great, back to normal, getting into trouble and enjoying life with her pal Sparky! Tug of War being Squirts game of choice, and being the gentleman, Sparky lets her tug away! Kicking Cancer’s Butt is awesome!

UPDATE & COMING EVENTS

updateThe last few months have been busy to say the least!

Since May, the Maggie May fund has been able to help Meea, Elijah, and Ninja with their medical care, and we are happy to report that all are doing very well, you can read their stories on our “Tails of Help” page.

We had a successful fundraiser at Pet Food N More a few weeks ago, and we welcomed aboard Debbie and Tameka to the team.

We are busy sewing again, creating our 2015 2nd Anniversary Quilt “Compassion” (reveal date September 12), and getting ready for our upcoming events.

We have registered “In Memory of Maggie May” as a team for the SPCA PAWS FOR A CAUSE.  Although fundraising for our own cause is important, animal cruelty tugs at our heartstrings, we see so much of it in the news and want to help when we can. You can donate to or join the “In Memory of Maggie May” team, and walk with us to fight animal cruelty. September 13, 2015 at the Maple Ridge Shelter, 10235 Jackson Rd, Maple Ridge, BC (click on the link above to see more)

Our most important focus is to gain exposure to our cause and build the Maggie May fund so that we will always have funds available to help those in need. There is much more in the works that we will share when we can.

We are excited to be welcomed to the following events …. mark you calendars! If anyone would like to volunteer and assist us in our booth for any of the events,  please email us at maggiemay99@telus.net. (click on the links to see more)

cannabis_hd_widescreen_wallpapers_1680x10501

Cannabis / Cannabis Oil has been in the news of late, and we felt it worth while to share some information that we have found on the subject. There is an overload of information on the internet, but we have been very selective on sharing articles that we trust. We welcome your comments, your thoughts, your pet stories associated with Cannabis, and any articles you feel should be added to our list.  Our intent is to provide information on options for you to pursue.

WELCOME ABOARD …. DEBBIE & TAMEKA!

IMG_1661a

When Debbie applied for assistance for her darling girl Meea, she knew she wanted to somehow, and in someway give back.  Now that Meea is recovering nicely, she is ready, she wants to help our cause, she wants to help us grow!

Getting to know Debbie and her daughter Tameka has been an extreme pleasure, and their love for Meea and Flinn is undeniable. Debbie & Tameka have been involved in many fundraising ventures, and along with Debbie’s sales experience, they bring a new dimension to the “In Memory of Maggie May” team.  Debbie has some wild and crazy ideas that we are looking forward to exploring.

Our current focus is to replenish the Maggie May fund, the last thing we want is to decline assistance due to lack of funds.  We have fundraising plans already in the works for July and August, and will share details as soon as we can.

We have only just begun!

SUPER TURN OUT FOR OUR PET FOOD N MORE FUNDRAISER

We had a very successful fundraiser event on Saturday, hosted by Pet Food N More in Maple Ridge.  The store was hopping with excitement, for humans and the dogs.  There was a barkathon for a few minutes, which kept us all laughing, but all were very well behaved, and all adorable.  Our Canada Day Bandana’s were a hit!  The store staff raffled off 2 beautiful baskets, to which we donated each a Maggie May Blanket!

Meea of course was the star of the day, and all wanted to hear her story.  Meea is recovering so well, and we were amazed at the change since we met her about a month ago just after her first surgery.  She was happy and truly enjoyed her moment in the limelight, she wandered about the store like nobody’s business, meeting, greeting and sniffing …..  being pain free makes life so much better, something Meea has not experienced for quite some time.

We were very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event, to be able to tell our story, how we are helping, and what our ambitions are.  It was a wonderful turnout, more  than we ever expected, we raised much needed funds and made some fantastic connections. It truly moved us to receive such support for our cause!

We thank Pet Food N More and their staff, everyone that came out to enjoy the fun and donated to the Maggie May Memorial Fund, Debbie, Tameka, Flinn & Meea for coming out to tell Meea’s story and help us promote our cause.

We love what we do, and to know that we really are making a difference, is more than anyone could ask for.

There will be raffle prize draws, which will include of course Maggie May Blankets, dog trick contests, cup cakes, and a balloon artist!
