Today, our group is getting together, not only for a play date for the supervisors of course, but to talk about fundraising and how to promote In Memory of Maggie May. Currently we raise funds for the memorial account through donations and our Maggie May blankets, and as much as we love creating our blankets, we need to also find other ways to build the fund. We also need to find ways of letting people know about us, and that we are here to help. We will keep you updated.
What can you do….
Let us know if you have any ideas or how you can help. Let others know about our Maggie May Blankets and how they can order. Donate through paypal or at Healing Paws. But, most importantly, if you know anyone or a family that needs help with their pets medical care, let them know about our fund, and how they can apply for assistance. And lastly, the next time you are at your vet clinic, let your veterinarian know about us, and refer them to our website.

While at the Healing Paws today for Miss Jackie’s checkup, we were sharing Julie’s Pumpkin biscuits with a furry friend, of course they loved it and asked for the recipe…so we did even better, we have added a new menu item to our website “RECIPES“. We have new page on our website “For The Love Of Our Fur Kids“. We recently met gorgeous Maddy and her brothers Keoke and Rum Toddy, and after hearing Maddy’s story we were inspired to create this page. We have dedicated this page to Maddy…….there is no end to what we will do for our Fur Kids.
We proudly presented Katie with the Anniversary Quilt this afternoon, many memories were shared. Congratulations!

We just shipped another order of Belly Bands to Alberta Lost Pet Locator & Rescue Society……..thank you for your support!
Marie Jennings and Alberta Lost Pet Locator and Rescue Society are ongoing supporters of “In Memory of Maggie May”, and we are so very grateful. Not only through their orders for belly bands and bandanas, they share our cause amongst their followers, because ultimately we are all working towards the same goal, helping our animals anyway we can.
Marie and her organization work tirelessly for animals, whether rescuing those that are unwanted, providing medical care and finding them homes, or locating your lost pet. Marie is a Certified Pet Detective, but also holds certificates as a dog trainer, dog behaviourist, dog groomer and as a Vet Assistant…she is an amazing woman and am privileged to know her. There are continuous posts to their facebook page of Lost and Found Pets as they try to help them find their way home. They depend entirely on donations to run their 60 acre shelter and for veterinarian costs. They will be running an Online Fundraising Auction October 26th -November 9th, and we will once again be donating 2 Maggie May blankets to help their cause.

Not too many years ago, I never would have imagined at where we would be today, I am in awe as to what this special little girl has created.
We are so proud of what we have accomplished in our first year. Through our blankets, belly bands, and donations, and whatever else we may come up with, we continue to build our fund. We were fortunate to be able to help our “first” recipient, Josie and are happy to report that she is doing great. We have a wonderful network of supporters and have made some special friendships along the way too. We have created over 80 blankets in our first year, some were donated to SAINTS and Alberta Lost Pet & Rescue, but mostly they went home to your pet to curl up with, each blanket sharing Maggie’s spirit.
We have launched our website, and are excited to be adding a new section “For The Love Of Our Fur Kids”, where we will share stories from our followers on their pets and the special things they do for their well being. Our pride and joy, was our 1st Anniversary Quilt, named “Gratitude” which we raffled off and raised $603 for the memorial account, Katie Ross was our very excited winner. We are already planning next year’s quilt.
So, as we begin our second year, our focus is to spread the word about what we do, promoting and fundraising, letting people in need know, that we can help. Our bones are set in place, now we build and make a difference in an animal’s life, one at a time.
The winner of “In Memory Of Maggie May” – 1st Anniversary Quilt – “Gratitude” is KATIE ROSS…….congratulations! From what we hear, there will be some discussion in the family on whose bed this fabulous quilt will lie…..we will be making the presentation soon!
We thank everyone for their support and generosity, we sold 159 tickets and raised $603 for the Maggie May Fund!
