JANUARY 21st……..TODAY IS MAGGIE MAY’S BIRTHDAY!  We are celebrating and remembering our special girl with all our hearts.

In Maggie’s honour and to keep her birthday tradition going ….. it’s contest time again!

We had a special request to do a quilted cover for Rudy’s crate, we think it turned out pretty good for our first try.  Rudy’s hideaway is now comfy cozy for those long afternoon naps, his furry feline siblings sneak in for a nap too!

The days passed quickly as we near the end of another year. The beginning of a new year awaits us. We have no regrets, nor wishes, nor dreams unfulfilled, our journey moves forward. We’ve done our best, we are encouraged, and although we are just small, we have made a big difference to some very special lives. Thank you for a great year, for your orders, your donations, and even your ear now and then.

PUTTING YOUR SUPPORT TO WORK ……. SAINTS RESCUE SPONSORSHIP

We have been blessed, to have been able to tour SAINTS Rescue in Mission, BC.  SAINTS is a sanctuary for senior and special needs animals, and not just cats and dogs.  We are in awe as to the work they do for so many animals, they provide not only care, but tons of love and kindness.

We first visited in the spring of 2014, and again this summer, when we met Agnes. Agnes was a stray that they feel was neglected by a breeder, she has many medical issues, but she has a home at SAINTS for life.  When we started thinking about other ways we could help animals in need, we thought of Agnes ….  how can one forget that lovable face.  We decided that helping Agnes, fits our mission, and we hope you all agree.  “In Memory of Maggie May” with your support is now one of Agnes’s sponsors, and we couldn’t be prouder.

PUTTING YOUR SUPPORT TO WORK ……. CHARLIE’S FOOD BANK

SPCA Charlies Fund

“In Memory of Maggie May” has a mission to help those in need, and this past week we have made a donation to Charlie’s Food Bank. Charlie’s Food Bank is named after Charlie, who was intentionally starved by his owner. Charlie came under the care of the BC SPCA, but sadly passed away after three weeks of intensive care. His memory lives on and now provides for low-income, people living outdoors and senior pet guardians:

  • Free pet-food for dogs, cats, birds and small animals.
  • Toys, treats, leashes, collars, litter, litter boxes and carriers
  • Information on behaviour, training, basic care and local animal by-laws
  • Free spay & neuters

JOSIE UPDATE

UPDATE ON JOSIE ….. we all know and love her! Josie’s Mom came to us for help in 2014 when she was diagnosed with encephalitis. Josie has a love of life that inspires others with this disease, she is a survivor and is currently in remission. She has patella issues, but therapy and a new brace is helping her immensely!

Josie faces a new challenge as she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning to remove a mass on her mammary. The surgery is tricky because of her other issue, we are all very anxious. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

Nalyn has done everything possible for Josie, she has never given up on her, and her dogs mean the world to her. If you would like to help …. Donations can be made directly to the vet at Fish Creek Pet Hospital (403) 873-1700- Her client ID number is 51284.

Gunner is already one spoiled little boy, with a Maggie May blanket and 2 crate pads under his belt. His Christmas gift was to be a surprise, but someone couldn’t wait, so he now has his second Maggie May blanket …. and he is only 5 months old!

We have other blanket gifts to share ….. but we can’t spoil the surprises til Christmas!
